Statement
Current Project:
I find powerful inspiration in the woodland near my house, where I walk every day. This connection was made more intense in April 2016, with the successful completion of a four year project to conserve 150 acres of woodland property in New Hampshire on behalf of my father. I am currently working on a body of work for a solo show to honor that accomplishment and encourage support of woodland conservation worldwide. We must succeed on a massive scale if we hope to maintain the health of our planet.
Inspiration:
On a more general level, my work is inspired by organic forms, musical ideas and mythological tales. As in nature, there are few straight lines in my work, and in keeping with certain elements of nature, I enjoy a vivid color palette.
Artistic Ideals:
I very much enjoy the thought "what if?" and find that my most creative expression comes from asking that question. The results are little worlds of wonder, influenced by surrealism, philosophical precepts, and both musical and pop culture.
